Primary Health Care Project in Namakofu and Wabitungulu

This project was supported at two local health centers, two private health centers, private individuals, Red cross and friends in the Netherlands. Through the LUCOF trainings and dialogues with VHTs, OPLs and CHPs we have realized these achievements. The number of deliveries in Health centers has increased from 339 to 843 and this has been a result of continuous sensitization. The number of immunizations has increased from 281 to 435. There is promotion of hygiene and sanitation due to improvement in latrine coverage that has increased from 59% to 60%. The number of malaria cases confirmed at health facilities reduced from 901 to 782. There is reduced child mortality rates due to increased attendance of antenatal health care services and postnatal services. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, some of the planned activities were affected more especially on the number of community-based health workers that were to be trained.
