LUCOF UGANDA offers internships to those who would like to help by donating their time, professional skills and experience to the running of our projects in Uganda. Not only is the internship programme a great opportunity for you to gain valuable work experience working in the Non-Governmental Organisation sector, it is also an unforgettable and deeply enriching time and a chance to immerse yourself in a new culture in a beautiful location!

Our interns spend 6 to 12 months living and working at LUCOF project base. Staying at the volunteering base means you’ll be surrounded by like-minded people who are passionate about lending a helping hand in Uganda.

As an intern:

  • Your primary role will be to act as a representative of the charity and to assist with the day-to-day monitoring and operations of LUCOF volunteer projects.
  • You will work closely with the LUCOF department Project Managers and will form part of the greater project team.
  • You will be involved directly with supervising the implementation of all donations and funds, which will include accounting as well as monitoring, evaluating and reporting on all donations and their implementation.
  • Interns are also responsible for fundraising and for raising awareness of LUCOF within the local area.
  • Interns receive a full orientation and thorough training on arrival at the project, and work with the guidance and support of the executive committee.
