  1. Wakatayi project is going on successfully

The students and teachers of Wakatayi senior secondary are working happily with the books, calculators and geometry sets donated to them by the Wereldwiskunde Fonds Nederland and LUCOF Uganda. Teacher trips and students trips are beginning in May.

2.  Tree planting progressing

Our tree planting programs are progressing, even during the dry season through irrigation. We have planted 67,000 trees since January 2022, including avocado, jackfruit, Fig tree (mutuba), misambya, misizi and mangoes in Nakaseke, Zirobwe, Kikyuusa and Wakiso.

3. Commercial farming project for the youth in Janda

This project is on a right track, Water wells for irrigation were set up where crops are being grown. LUCOF partners from Bukalasa Agricultural college are training the youth as well as monitoring the progress of the project. Crops grown include; Tomatoes, Green pepper, Cabbages, Bananas and coffee. 

4. Village to village football tournament.

This tournament aims to sensitize the youth and the public about a healthy lifestyle, HIV/AIDS, Entrepteneurship and Civil obedience. The villages involved include Kiteezi, Nangabo, Wampeewo, Gayaza, Kamwano, Kireba, Wakatayi, Wabitungulu, Kabubbu, Katadde, Bulamu, Kyetume and Janda.

5.  Zirobwe outreaches.

We are carrying outreaches in the different villages of Zirobwe, focusing on:

  • Treating vulnerable people against eye problems, malaria and skin infections
  • Sensitizing communities on basic health care and a healthy lifestyle
  • Tree planting
  • Giving out school logistics
  • Giving out basic home needs such as food, clothes, soap, medicine, shoes
